Terms of use and registration

1. WHO WE ARE — ChessGrab is a technology platform for managing and registering for chess tournaments, operated by Differentchess SL ("ChessGrab"). 2. ROLES — Tournaments are created and run by ORGANIZERS (clubs and entities), who are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for them: holding the event, sporting conditions, pairings and arbitration, federation rating submissions, prizes, capacity and venue treatment. ChessGrab provides the technology and, where applicable, online payment processing. ChessGrab does not organize tournaments nor arbitrate sporting disputes. Decisions regarding dates, schedules, pairings, prizes, capacity, sporting regulations or any other aspect of the event rest exclusively with the organizer. 3. ACCOUNTS AND IDENTITY — You agree to provide truthful data and not to impersonate identities (including FIDE IDs and federation licenses). Email verification may be required. Minors need their guardians' consent. 4. REGISTRATIONS — You register under the conditions published by each tournament (price, cancellation policy, identity requirements, payment options). Your spot is confirmed according to the chosen option (online payment, venue-payment reservation, free or club exemptions). The organizer may modify the tournament conditions before the event starts, informing participants where necessary. 5. ONLINE PAYMENTS — Processed through Stripe. The organizer receives the payment; ChessGrab acts on their behalf and earns a service commission included in the price. We never store card numbers. 6. PLAYER CANCELLATIONS — Per the tournament's policy. Online payment refunds are issued minus HANDLING COSTS equal to the service commission (the exact amount is shown before you confirm). Cancelling a venue-payment reservation simply frees the spot. 7. TOURNAMENT NOT HELD — If the tournament does not take place, for any reason (organizer cancellation, force majeure or any other cause), online payments are refunded in full. 8. PAYMENT CLAIMS — After the tournament ends, a 3-day window opens for payment-related claims (for example, the tournament not having taken place). The organizer resolves the claim; if they do not respond within the deadline, the refund is automatic. This is a payment-protection mechanism, not sporting arbitration. 9. VENUE PAYMENTS — A direct relationship between player and organizer; ChessGrab is not involved nor liable. 10. ORGANIZER TERMS — By creating a tournament you accept: (a) accuracy of the published information; (b) full responsibility for the event; (c) that federation rating submissions are your process and cost — marking them in ChessGrab only informs players; (d) a service fee of 5% plus €0.25 per registration paid online, deducted from the payout, unless explicitly agreed otherwise with the organizer (ChessGrab may apply more favourable terms during launches or promotions); (e) anti-fraud holds and payout/claim windows; (f) refunds under these terms (including 100% refunds if you cancel the tournament); (g) compliance with your legal, tax and consumer obligations. 11. CONDUCT AND ANTI-FRAUD — Impersonating identities, registering third parties without consent or unlawful use is prohibited. We may suspend accounts, block registrations and freeze payouts upon signs of fraud. 12. LIABILITY — The service is provided "as is", in launch phase. To the extent permitted by law, ChessGrab's liability for a transaction is limited to the service commission earned on it. ChessGrab is not responsible for the tournament actually taking place, for changes to dates or schedules, for arbitration decisions, sporting results, prizes, or any other decision made by the organizer. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights. 13. CHANGES — We may update these terms; the current version is the one published on this page. Where changes are significant, we may require renewed acceptance before you continue using certain features of the platform. 14.
